Pearl Hawaii Federal Credit Union is dedicated to providing financial literacy to Oahu, our communities, and our members. Due to economic changes, it has become important for consumers to understand basic financial fundamentals. Over time, financial literacy can have a positive impact on the community.
Pearl Hawaii is proud to bring you Banzai! Banzai is an award-winning financial literacy program used by millions of students throughout the United States. The program curriculum includes three different programs that the whole family can learn from and enjoy: Banzai Junior (ages 8-12), Banzai Teens (ages 13-18), or Banzai Plus for adults.
These programs are absolutely free for you to use.
Banzai Jr. uses the storyline of a summer lemonade stand and the goal of a new bike to teach financial concepts. Also, this course weaves in activities like quizzes and counting currency. With humor, Banzai Junior engages users while providing financial education in a unique way.
Overview | Budgeting, IOUs (an introduction to credit), Saving and Spending Money, Operating a Business, Making Payments, Sales Tax, ATMs, Interest, and Fees.
Banzai Teen gives teens the opportunity to work through real-life financial problems. Essentially, the user’s goal is to save enough money to register at Vanderbilt Community College. Unfortunately, unforeseen challenges make reaching that goal not-so-straightforward— just like real life.
Overview | Banking basics, budgeting, income, expenses, credit cards, auto loans, checking accounts, accounting, taxes and withholdings, and credit.
Banzai Plus brings the same kind of budgeting simulations from the other Banzai courses and elevates it to an advanced level. Essentially, individuals 16 and older can experience life dilemmas, exciting challenges, and purchasing a home. Overall, Banzai Plus makes complicated financial concepts easy to understand. Additionally, Banzai Plus calls for users to embrace adult-sized obstacles and learn about concepts from paying off debt to credit scores.

Banzai Coach offers 5-minute modules that blend interactivity with real numbers. Overall, it helps adults realize their financial goals and discipline their thinking. Also, Banzai Coach offers a personalized experience by asking questions about your situation and goals. Each Coach goes in-depth to provide the best pathway for your unique situation.
