LOAN SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  1. Responsible in assisting with the maintenance of all loans in the credit union’s loan portfolio as directed by the Loan Support Manager.
  2. Provides assistance to internal and external stakeholders with key functions needed to service the members’ loans.
  3. Maintains member’s loan files and follows retention period according to the credit union’s policies.
  4. Ensures that vehicle and real estate ownership titles are processed and perfected according to the credit union’s requirements.
  5. Assist with members’ post-closing questions, inquiries, and change requests.
  6. Communicates with third parties on loan related questions and requests while maintaining confidentiality of records.
  7. Involved in ensuring that collateral insurance is properly maintained for all the credit union’s loan products. Will be responsible in all aspects of the collateral protection insurance program.
  8. Responsible in assisting with the maintenance and balancing of loan related general ledgers.
  9. Provides assistance with loan reviews to ensure quality and accuracy using various loan servicing reports as directed by the Loan Support Manager.
  10. Responds and corrects members’ loan discrepancies and credit reporting disputes.
  11. Involved with communicating and working with auto dealerships and other third-party vendors on contract packets, to ensure required loan decision stipulations and verifications are met according to the credit union’s policies.
  12. Will perform other duties integral to the servicing of the loan department’s loans as directed by the Loan Support Manager or Vice President of Loans.

OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  1. Conducts every aspect of this position, involving interpersonal relations, in line with the concept that all personnel, staff, shareholders, and visitors are afforded full and equal treatment in all matters without regard to race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, lawful political affiliation, physical handicap or marital status.
  2. Periodically serves on various credit union committees (i.e. Safety, Social Events, etc.)
  3. Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be prescribed by the VP of Loans, or the President/CEO.
  4. Pursues a program of self-development and utilizes such training and education as may be required by the credit union (in connection with this position and for career development).
  5. Ensures a secure, neat, clean, and safe work area.

Work Hours:

  • Hours are to be determined depending on the shifts available.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:00 pm, and Saturday 8:45 AM to 2:15 pm, subject to change to meet Credit Union’s needs.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Work hours and days are subject to change and will be based on the changing needs of our membership.

  • Requires alertness, concentration, and attention to detail.
  • Requires the use of good judgment when dealing with difficult or uncomfortable situations.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS

  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with members, peers, and managers.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires sitting at a workstation for periods of up to 4 hours (without a break).
  • Requires the ability to understand and complete instructions.
  • Requires data entry/keypunching and mouse skills to complete daily tasks.
  • Ability to view and correctly interpret numbers, text, and images on a computer screen.
  • Requires the use of various office equipment to perform duties.
  • Requires verifying documents for accuracy.
  • Requires working beyond the 8-hour day periodically.
  • Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Requires bending and climbing (step ladder) for the purpose of re-filing documents and folders.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to learn and apply learned skills.
  • Ability to work with all types of people.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to type 40 WPM.
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with members, co-workers, and management.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Operational knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education & Training:

Must have one of the following:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.

Experience:

  • One year of experience working in a financial institution is preferred.
